We are a Lehigh Valley (Allentown) PA, USA based Star Trek/Sci-Fi club; our Starfleet registry was U.S.S. Galant NCC-9710 (which has been changed back to its original designation U.S.S. Aleutian as of 1/1/99). The one thing that makes us different then most other clubs is that we have an 18-foot replica of the original starship U.S.S. Enterprise. We obtained the replica from the Cub Scout pack that originally constructed it, and with extensive renovations, we have succeeded in making it the eye-catching showpiece that has been taken to conventions, parades, and benefits. It's great taking it on the road and seeing heads turn, Vulcan hand signals and being ordered to "Beam me up, Scotty!"
We are on a continuing mission to find new life forms that want to join in on the fun. There will always be more improvements to be made; like sound effects, phasers firing, and a shuttlecraft exiting from the rear of the ship. We are far from finished working on it. Along with the "ship", we get to watch movies, play games, watch TV, and just simply have a good old time. If this sounds like fun and you want to be recruited as a member of the ship, you can make first contact with us:

This is the way the replica looked
when we obtained it from the scouts.

The most asked question is "what's it made of?"
The answer is anything that does the job -
plywood, styrofoam, all kinds of plastic,
barrels, hamster balls, wiffle balls, salad
bowl, scotchlite, ping pong ball, caulk, x-mas
lights, and lots of blood, sweat, and tears.
BUT- it was FUN!
